Kaden the Fly in the Spider Web
I guess he tought it might be time to experiement with the other side of the spider web.. the victim :)
And yes I had to get him out and maybe I should have just left him there for a while... it would be one less kid to chase around :)

Kaden's Surgery May 28, 09
Ok... I'm not going to lie. This was / is very hard. The 2 hours after the surgery in recovery were just awful. He was in sooo much pain, and the pain meds made him so sleepy that his oxygen stats were falling to far down, so we would have to wake him up and that scared him, and the crying would start all over again. Once he figured out that popsciles felt good, that was a good start to going home. We got home about noon. Yesterday he ate 9 popsciles, 1 bowl of pudding, 1 milkshake, and a few sips of gatorade. Last night was a tough one. We had to do a medicine of come kind every 2 hours... waking him up to swallow was just pure torture. But, this morning he actually wants to play... However he has to play on the futon, no running around. And he is on is 3 popscile already, after 1/2 a bowl of pudding and 1/2 bowl of applesauce. The drinking thing is still hard to get him to do... but that is why we are pushing the popsciles.
Winston is never far away. He seems very worried about Kaden, especially when he is crying. Kyler wants so bad to help his big brother...that and he doesn't understand why Kaden gets to eat treats and he has to eat real food.
Here are few pics.
They say day 5 is one of the worst so remember us on Monday :(

Memorial Day 09
Well it was a great 4 days. We left Thursday night right after Matt got home from work. We went to the Ramariz's home and met up with the Fergusons. 3 college / lifelong friends and their families...7 kids...3 Mom's...2 dogs...2 goats...and countless fun. Here are a few pics. They also drove a go-cart, spend a day at the lake (where Matt and I got burnt - but the boys did not). We ate like king's - John is a wonderful cook and I even won $180 dollars at a casino on "girls night". We had a blast.
We did have to leave sooner than planned on Monday morning becuase the kids shared - like kids do and several were coming down with strep throat - including Kaden. Last night he had a very high fever and does not feel good at all. But.. his surgery is on Thursday and hopefully that will still go well.
Just thought I would share :)

Who knew.... ? We didn't
Well, after Kyler's post-op appointment with Dr. Ellis today.... Kaden said
"my turn". So, Dr. Ellis took a look at him. Then sent him directly to do
a hearing test. Turns out he has a loss of 20 decibels in his hearing (that
is like having fingers stuck in your ears 24/7 - all muffled). He also has
excessive fluid in his ears, causing all sorts of pressure and his tonsils
are so large that they are most likely causing breathing issues when he
sleeps (explains his loud snoring) and has trouble swallowing (explaining
his picking and very slow and excessive chewing of food). He will be going
in on May 28th for tubes in his ears, andoids removed along with his
tonsils. It's going to be a rough recovery for him :(. But... hopefully
this will help him with his weight gain and hopefully his hearing loss will
not be permanent.

Prayers... would be great! I had that my kids and husbands have a first
name basis with the surgery center :( This stinks!
